shearing jeans

Back in 2018, Jovian Cummins was shearing inside a Hawke Bays woolshed wearing his old jeans. He was in between dealing with the shearing when the constant work made him feel overheated. At this point, he realized the need for comfortable work wear for him and others to make them feel comfortable. This was when the idea of merino jeans first blossomed in his brain. Let's delve deeper into it and understand how it all started!

Woolies jeans

The main idea that Jovian Cummins also had was to invest in jeans that would keep him cool on hotter days and hot on warmer days. During this time, to get help, Cummings sort to his mum for help, who had a background in the fashion industry. Together they created and designed jeans with a proper merino lining and a protective denim exterior, and Woolies jeans were born.

Quality jeans at an affordable price

After the start of Woolies, Jovian (25) started his work as a shearer in Dannevirke and developed a passion for trade over the years. This passion took him around the world, and he is now working in the western part of Australia. Cummins also believed that his jeans product was not only about comfort but also a way to support the wool industry. He believes that the quality of wool often made here and there is not worth the use and does not have a good impact on the environment. Jovian believes that correct material and quality are the only things necessary for the best result. During the creation of the most comfortable jeans, a designer from Auckland with an experience 30 years of in the fashion industry also helped them.

Jeans for all

The best part is that these jeans are not only made for shearers and farmers. Anyone in any kind of environment can use it. After constant hard work for three years of product development and help from high school friends Felix Watkins and Issac Williams, crowdfunding round to bring Woolies to the world and launch it.

The next target for the group is to raise a sum between $50000 and $500000 for franchising the supply chain and designs. From here onwards, they want to meet the goal of offering the most comfortable pair of jeans to all shearers and farmers across the world. Cummins also believes this would help offer extra jobs in such Covid-19 times. He also aims to ship these jeans worldwide very soon.
