Responsibilities of the Management 

 

  1. Management is responsible to ensure that first aid attendants are well trained to perform their first aid tasks, that includes recording observations, making return-to-work assessments and so on. 

  1. To ensure that workers are receiving prompt first aid service and follow-up. 

  1. Management should check that there are sufficient first aid attendants to cover all shifts and eventualities. 

  1. To check that the certification of first aid attendants is current. 

  1. Responsible for monitoring and inspecting first aid records to ensure all entries are complete and understandable. 

 

Responsibilities of the First Aid Attendant 

 

  1. Should carry current required first aid certification for the worksite.  

  1. Promptly provide care to the workers within the scope of the attendant’s knowledge, training and regulations. 

  1. If any injury or illness is recognized as being serious or beyond the scope of the attendant's training, then the injured person should be referred to proper medical attention. 

  1. Attendant should record observed signs and symptoms and complete a first aid report for all injuries and illnesses. 

  1. Should interact with the worker’s supervisor when an injured worker need a job accommodation to maintain proper attendance at work. 

 

Responsibilities of the Worker 

 

  1. Responsible for reporting all incidents to the immediate supervisor. 

  1. All workers should ensure that they are aware of all first aid arrangements within their workplace.
